Modular Open Systems Approach

CAPSTONE’s modular open systems approach (MOSA) incorporating vehicle, payload, and systems modular architectures enables Certo to rapidly integrate new capabilities into CAPSTONE to keep pace with customer requirements. Vehicle modularity increases availability by enabling ‘repair by replace’ of faulty modules reducing maintenance activities. Systems modularity enables integration of customer-specified avionics and systems at pace. External payloads are attached using standardised interfaces enabling swift transitions between many roles. CAPSTONE adapts at the point of need, minimising support equipment burden and maximising operational effectiveness.

Modular Payload Integration

CAPSTONE is purpose-built for multiple missions. Using standardised stores carriage and release units, CAPSTONE carries a wide range of external payloads including cargo pods, underslung loads, CASEVAC pods, surveillance pods, and more. Rapid reconfiguration in the field maximises availability and mission effectiveness. Permanently installed payloads can be fuselage mounted. CAPSTONE is engineered to reduce complexity and cost while multiplying mission readiness across all domains – land, sea and air.

Modular Systems and C2

Individual avionics and mission systems can be swapped out for customer-specified specific products. These include mission sensors and effectors, edge computers, mission computer and command and control (C2) links.  C2 links are provided by IP-mesh-enabled radios, with CellCom and SATCOM C2 links as an option. Customer specified ground control stations / human machine interfaces (GCS/HMI) can be integrated with CAPSTONE’s GCS.
